Soul Glo - Diaspora Problems

Epitaph

Soul Glo - Diaspora Problems. Epitaph Records.

Soul Glo's fourth studio album picks up where their 2021 'DisN' EP series left off. Frantic firings; blissful, out of control energy, and words from a crazed wordsmith line the halls of Diaspora Problems. Diaspora; the dispersion of a population/thing from their/its indigenous habitat.

The element of chaos births an unpredictable nature - replay value stems from this. Never quite figuring out what occurs, and where, is enough to push the play button again; reeling your music junkie brain in for another hit of unpredictability. Like fish to bait your soul is held on a hook; blown apart by energies blitz and held together with a sense of fulfillment. The burning embers of angst and hatred smolder - the residual heat being enough to provide third degree burns. This amount of energy is enough to run three boroughs for three weeks. You see those streetlights outside your area that lead the way home? That's Soul Glo.

Trap fused with hardcore punk; things this aesthetically opposed are usually the things that meld together smoothly. Opposites attract in a previously unknown, obvious way - things will always work when done well. The essence of things entangle in the most serene of ways. Appearance being the only thing that really differs; what lies beneath the surface is rarely taken into account. Under the bonnet the engine is the same; fueled by the same outside worlds of influence. It's not what you look at, it's what you see. Accept things as they are or live in a constant cycle of desperate clinging to life - it passes you by in the process. A few blinks of the eye and the moment is gone forever - trapped in the irretrievable, unrepeatable ether. Moments like these don't pass by often. Take them with both hands - build those calloused paws up to experienced standards. Wrap your soul around the essence of things.

Soul Glo capture a rapturous moment in time with Diaspora Problems. Some bands manage to effectively find ways to bring things full circle, right back to the beginnings.
